Our Winter Warmer was a truly memorable day, made even more special by our wonderful guest speaker, Joanne Brozinski. Joanne captivated everyone with her warmth, humour, and obvious passion for quilting, sharing stories from her quilting journey and the inspiration behind many of her beautiful creations.
Joanne’s quilts were a delight to see up close, with each one showcasing her exceptional eye for colour, texture, and design. Her work reflected a love of fabric and craftsmanship, and it was fascinating to hear how ideas evolve from a simple piece of fabric into a stunning finished quilt. She generously shared insights into her creative process, the challenges and joys of quilting, and the importance of finding inspiration in everyday life and the world around us. Joanne is well known for her love of quilting and appliqué, and her enthusiasm for beautiful fabrics and handwork was evident throughout her presentation. Her quilts demonstrated both technical excellence and a deep appreciation for the stories that quilts can tell.
One of the highlights of the day was Joanne’s willingness to answer questions and engage with members, creating an atmosphere that was both inspiring and encouraging. Whether you are an experienced quilter or just beginning your quilting journey, there was something in Joanne’s presentation that resonated with everyone.

She reminded us all why we love quilting – the creativity, the friendships, and the joy of making something by hand. We are incredibly grateful for her generosity and inspiration, and we know many of our members left the Winter Warmer eager to start their next project.
