A memorable guest speaker evening
Last night we were privileged to welcome Lorraine Rogers as our guest speaker, and what an inspiring evening it was. Lorraine shared her quilting journey, which began around 20 years ago creating traditional quilts before discovering a passion for art quilts and textile creativity.
Members were fascinated to learn how Lorraine works from her own photographs, digitally transforming images into unique designs that become the basis for her stunning textile artworks. Her process of combining technology with fabric artistry showcased a wonderful blend of creativity and innovation.
Lorraine also spoke about her use of both new and recycled fabrics, carefully layering them to create her distinctive raw edge appliqué pieces. The depth, texture, and detail in her work were truly remarkable and provided plenty of inspiration for everyone in attendance.
