Each year Waverley Patchworkers is pleased to sponsor the quilt category at this regional show to support and encourage quilt making in the area. This year the winner was a Waverley member, Suzann Moss. She also did well with a second quilt at the show. Both utilise many techniques including stencilling, stamping, trapunto, couching, fibres, mirrors and free motion embroidery. On the first place winner Opalescence she also used glitter sticks, fabric beads, embossing powder on buttons and beading. The second quilt has trapunto skulls and other ghostly images, quilted spider webs and lots of bugs, crystals and opal dust.
